Over 1200 people attended AN
ORGAN SUMMIT SUPREME, this past October. Pictured here are organ
great Dr. Lonnie Smith, Bob between drummers Don Williams & Rudy
Petschauer, and the great David "Fathead" Newman on tenor.
|
Bob was Musical Director for the
concert, and is pictured here between two true organ legends: Jimmy
McGriff and Trudy Pitts. They are shown admiring Jimmy's Lifetime
Achievement Award from the City of Newark, the concert's sponsor. |
WBGO Jazz88.3FM,
the nations' leading jazz station, was the media sponsor of the organ
summit. Gary Walker, of "Morning Music", was the event's
exuberant host. Trudy played with David, Bob and Rudy.

Lonnie and Bob had a great time playing
together again.
|
The quartet was terrific. In the middle of their set,
the Doctor was IN!--Lonnie had everyone
laughing with his fabulous vocal imitations. |
Trudy, Bob's mentor
with whom he
first toured, played & sang with great emotional power to enormous
crowd response. |
